The Federal Customs Service Is Reducing the Number of Customs Posts

On April 14, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation made a written order to customs authorities to decrease the number of places for customs procedures.

The letter states that customs clearance of the goods “imported to the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union by motor transport and specified in the Supplement to the order №1919 made by the Federal Customs Service on September 20, 2011, “On the competence of the customs authorities located in Moscow and Moscow region for carrying out customs formalities concerning certain types of goods”, upon completion of customs transit, temporary storage, can only be delivered in:

  • Krasnozavodsky customs post of Moscow Regional Customs (10130080)
  • Vyborg customs post №2 of Vyborg Customs (10206082)
  • Shchelkovo customs post (e-declaration centre) of Moscow Regional Customs (10130210)

On April 25, 2016, amendments to the order were made and Stabinsky customs post of Smolensk customs (10113100) was added to the list of customs posts.

The Customs Service explains the necessity of such orders by ecological reasons. From now on, international carriers shall go through customs clearance at the posts with licensed temporary storage warehouses (SVKh), which guarantee safe storage conditions for hazardous goods.
