Maryia Ivanova is a director of the TELS GLOBAL UK Limited Company, based in London, Great Britain.
Let’s start with a question about your company. Exactly what type of business do you run?
Nowadays, TELS GLOBAL UK Limited is an international freight-forwarding company with branches in London, Warsaw, Prague, and Kyiv. Here in the UK, we focus mainly on road transportation within the UK and EU countries, but that’s not where our capabilities end. We offer both LTL and FTL shipments, intermodal transportation within the EU (and beyond). In general, when it comes to TELS GLOBAL, we provide services across all modes and types of transport.
How long has your company been in business?
We’ve been in business since 2001, and our first office was founded here in London. We started with a few people focusing solely on road transportation and have transformed into an international company providing services around the world.
Do you have your own fleet of vehicles?
We used to operate as both a transport and freight-forwarding company, but starting in 2022, we shifted our strategy after reviewing the business, and we are now solely a freight-forwarding company.
We have an impressive network of partners (up to 300k at the moment), which allows us to offer sufficient coverage and capacity to our customers. Our fleet, available to us through our contractors, includes all types of equipment, from tautliners and refrigerators to vans and specialized equipment for oversized deliveries.
Despite the size of our network, customers can be confident they are in safe hands with us due to the strict due diligence procedures we follow when onboarding new suppliers to our database.
How do you cope in the current market situation?
What’s great about logistics is that it’s never boring. There are always challenges, and that’s what I enjoy about our industry.
Right now, our business, like many others, is facing challenges—old supply chains are falling apart, and transport flows are changing.
The EU market is highly competitive; you always need to “keep an ear to the ground” to stay afloat and remain profitable. However, we’re successfully adapting, and our key performance indicators have been steadily growing over the years. Our brand continues to move forward despite the challenges.
What really helps us navigate this tricky market is our flexibility and understanding that we need to adjust to a rapidly changing environment. Our experience in handling unstable markets allows us to react immediately and make the right decisions when things change. And, of course, it’s our amazing team—people are our most valuable asset.
What prompted you to set up Trans.eu?
Many carriers and customers of ours were already using it, and it seemed like something we needed for our day-to-day activities in searching for transport and communicating with carriers. It’s a platform where everything is centralized in one place, saving time and effort and simplifying many tasks.
In what area do you use the Platform?
We use Trans for communication with Carriers in the first place. Searching for cargo on Trans.eu is not relevant for us, as the majority of our shipments come from our Regular Customers whom we work on contract tender basis. A more significant value for us here is the possibility to find reliable contractors (transport companies) and manage our relationships with them.
