TELS GLOBAL: Counting emissions to the environment and reducing them

Air pollution is one of the most significant ecological threats. The effect of the main air pollution sources can be reduced using more ecologically-friendly transport types and by means of increased energy efficiency of enterprises.

Transport is the source of around 16% of global volume of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, with 12% emitted by automobile transport. In big cities, automobile emissions contribute up to 85% of total air pollution.

One of the key objectives of a socially responsible business is to reduce air pollutant emissions from its operations. A systematic approach to preservation of the planet’s ecology has long been the standard for market leaders.

TELS GLOBAL clients can rest assured that their cargos are transported not just in compliance with all legislative standards on pollutant emissions; our requirements for reduction of CO2 emission levels are much tougher.

The company information system provides an automated CO2 emission data calculation and recording during the cargo delivery process. While making a new transportation application, the system calculates future emissions based on the following criteria:

  • level of emission standard of the vehicle
  • cargo weight
  • transport route

Calculations are made not only for FTL, but also for LTL (less than truckload) transportations (emissions per kilogram of cargo).

These data can be presented to transport clients on request and used for joint emission reduction purposes.
