Road transport logistics in Germany is predicted to become more expensive

From December 1, 2023, truck toll costs will rise by an average of 81%, the German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV) predicts. Forlogic, a consulting firm commissioned by DSLV, evaluated the data of 2,160 vehicle and tour profiles and 230,000 deliveries.

According to DSLV, starting in December, 42% of the total cost of paying for average transportation will come from regional distribution transportation. With changes to the road toll law, the list of local vehicles subject to the toll will become more extensive as of December 1, 2023

The next cost increase has already been determined: starting on July 1, 2024, even the smallest delivery vehicles with a technically permissible gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tons or more will have to pay a toll.
