Polish farmers have announced new protests that will last until April 30. The protest organizers are standing up against the European Green Deal. They are also campaigning to restrict the import of agricultural and food products into the EU, especially from Ukraine.
Farmers in Poland have been protesting for many weeks. They occasionally impede traffic on highways by bringing agricultural equipment and block the traffic at crosswalks. Protests have taken place and more are planned to happen on state roads No. 12, 17, 27, 91, 266, and 867. The police are trying to promptly inform drivers of the situation on the roads.
The police also informed of the existing border blockades with Ukraine at the following locations:
- Okopy village, intersection of state road No. 12 with regional road No. 816 – blockade from February 9 to March 9;
- Zosin village – border crossing point – road blockade from February 27 to March 10;
- Dołhobyczów village – border crossing point – road blockade from February 27 to March 10;
- Hrebenne village – blockade of state road No. 17 from February 9 to March 10.
According to the Border Guard, on Tuesday, March 5, the waiting time for transport to cross the border at Dorohusk totaled 223 hours. It was slightly shorter in Medyk – 216 hours. In Hrebenne, trucks waited for about 80 hours.
The City Office of Lubycza Królewska received information about the planned protest actions from March 10 to April 30 at the intersection of state road No. 17 with regional road No. 867 in front of the border crossing point in Hrebenne. Therefore, the farmers intend to stay in Hrebenne longer than March 10 if the government's actions do not change the situation.
