The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released its industry forecast for 2025. Its analysts expect the total net profit of air carriers to reach $36.6 billion globally, up 16% from 2024. Total revenues will exceed the $1 trillion mark for the first time in history, reaching $1.007 trillion, up 4% from 2024.
Analysts predict that 5.2 billion passengers will be carried worldwide next year, an increase of 6.7% over 2024 and surpassing the 5 billion mark for the first time.
It is worth noting that the growth in passenger traffic also increases the cargo capacity of the market, as most cargo is carried in the hold of passenger aircrafts.
