Air cargo up again in March

Following a 0.1% fall in February 2025 compared to February last year, global civil air cargo volumes resumed their upward trend in March. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), global air cargo grew by 4.4% in March year-on-year.

International air cargo volumes were up 5.5% year-on-year in March.

This growth is partly due to outperforming demand amid expectations of high import tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump in April, according to Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General. Uncertainty continues as there are high risks of these threats materialising after the 90-day suspension.
