Road Freight Rates in Europe Have Been Growing for Five Consecutive Quarters and Are Going Upwards in the Sixth

The average road freight rates in Europe increased by 2.9% in the third quarter of 2021 against the previous year, as the analysts of Transport Intelligence (TI) say in their quarterly Road Freight Rate benchmark. The average rate rose by 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.

As TI notes, the rates have been growing for five (now six – Ed.) consecutive quarters.

The analysts of TI are expecting further rate growth. “The economic activity is strong enough to support the increase of tariffs in the short run,” the report says.
