According to the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD), the container train traffic volume on the China-Europe route in 2023 increased by 18%, compared to 2022. More than 17.5 thousand container trains were dispatched from China to Europe, which is 6% higher than in 2022. (OSJD comprises a number of countries that act as important players in the Eurasian transportation and logistics market, including Russia).
The container trains operating between China and Europe and China and Central Asia have already connected more than 100 cities in 11 Asian countries and 217 cities in 25 European countries. 53 categories of goods are transported by trains, including cars, automobile components, electronics, clothing, accessories, consumer and textile products, fast moving consumer goods, grain, timber, etc.
